Default Used z06 shocks

Wanted to get some opinions. Picked up a set of c6 z06 sways, shocks and rotors for a really good price. Frankly was just looking for the sways but as a package deal it made sense. The parts have 29k miles on them.

Does it make sense to install the shocks on my c5 that has 110k miles on it or should I just get some new shocks and try to sell these? It’s a weekend car, so wont be putting much mileage on it but the current shocks are definitely on their way out and are super soft (base non z51). I’m thinking this could be a nice budget upgrade but wasn’t sure the typical mileage people get out of their shocks. Anything seems like it would be a ride quality improvement.

With only 29K I don't think I would hesitate installing them. Anything is better than high mileage base shocks, mine had 112,000 on it when I changed mine. Handled like a broken lawn chair.

I would use the shocks but, not the sway bars unless you have a C5 Z06

Should be fine, C6 Z06 shocks are also an inexpensive option.

If the shocks are original they are at least 12 years old now, maybe almost 20. Would they be better than what you have? Yes. Would they be as good as new shocks? No.
If you're doing the job yourself the labor is free. I'd put them on. If you're paying someone else to do the work I'd rather put on new shocks.

^ I agree. The used Z06 shocks should be much better than your current shocks and the sway bars are worth installing.

Shocks and sways installed and the car feels great. Confirmed that the old shocks were original with 111k miles. Drove the car for about an hour home and that floaty, unstable feel is gone. Initially I thought it was tire related as the fronts were new non-run flat and the rears are from 2016 and are run flat. Looking forward to getting some new tires now.

And new tires will make a huge difference also. I went from old run flats to Conti Extreme Contact DWS 06's, it felt like a different (much better) car.
