Default Discount Tire question

I'm getting new tires from them has anybody used them to install the tires? I'm worried they aren't set up to lift the vette properly. Should I just take it to a dealer? Thanks

Discount tire is excellent for Corvette tire mounting.

Discount tire is the only place that I trust to do tires on any of my vehicles.

I've always bought tires from them. But, I've always taken the wheels off the car and brought them without the car. I guess I'm gun shy about anyone lifting it and torquing them properly. But with the mentioned reviews here, you probably have nothing to worry about.

I have been using them exclusively for 18 years. Lived a few places across the country and they are always friendly and do a good job.

At whatever tire store I go to, I hand the manager the jacking pucks and make sure he knows what they are for!

This why I prefer the bolt on ones. They are always there.

Oh, and for the record, I have probably spent upwards of 20k dollars @Discount Tire since 1992.

Yeah, we've had an incident or two in that span of time and they ALWAYS took care of it to 100% satisfaction.

I would have no problems taking my C5 to them if the need arose.

Generally speaking I take all my tires/wheels into them off the car just because I can get in and out of there quicker.

Been using them for at least 15 years including the C5. The only issue they had with the C5....you guessed it, no one knew how to drive standard, I had to put it in the bay for them! LOL

I trust them. Watched them do the change on the C5 and all looked good.

Take to a dealer? Good Lord no.

The guys at our local Discount Tire have no issue with me pulling my car in instead of them if I ask. One time the manager came to me and said "I told the crew that if anybody scratches your HREs they are fired." I thought that was funny.

They once accidentally left their jacking pucks under my car. Luckily I was having lunch down the street and pulled back in the parking lot and they reached under and grabbed them.

While that may be true a lot of the time, there are dealers out there that do a great job mounting and balancing tires. I have taken my car to three local dealers for tire work and they took very good care of the car - no damage, tires mounted and balanced perfectly.

We do not have a Discount Tire store around here, but there have been many testimonials here on the forum about their excellent work.

I usually bring my wheels in loose. Mainly so I can drop off and return in my truck at my leisure.

Went to their competitor across the street once. They insisted on opening the hatch and doors before lifting it. Guess they don't see a lot of C5's.

I’ve had only great experiences with them. They also have some great deals. I saved $500 using them instead of a local shop I had used for decades.

Funny you would mention that, that's how they said they do it. Should I tell them to leave everything shut?

I went through the same thing with DT. I think it is a C4 thing but hey, at least they are taking stuff into consideration. It is their policy so why fight it.
