Why do people do this design for Corvette? Do you like it?

Just came across this wild-looking 1998 Corvette Indy Pace Car Edition.Purple with yellow wheels, crazy decals... I'm curious - why did Corvette go with this design? What is your opinion about this design?

If I won a lottery, I would have my 04 Vert painted just like that with the rims and badging making sure the top was a bright yellow to match. Then I would find a Big Bird stuff animal and put it the passenger's seat. At 81, who gives a F*** what others think.

As much as I personally like an over the top vet that one’s a little too much for me personally. Some people love them !!! The 95 Pace cars are quite wild too.

They need the car to be seen on the track and stand out.

The bright colors make it stand out from a dark track on TV.

Also around that yime bright colors were popular too.

Just the same reason Jeff Gordon used day glow orange.

Like it or hate it you did notice it.
