Default 1997 c5

So, if I am correct there were 4,792 built. I have one and at every Corvette show I attend I am the only 97 C5. Just curious how many of us there are still out there? Mine is black on black, automatic, highly modified with 89,000 miles. Still looks brand new! Anybody?

There were 9,752 produced in 97 and then it goes to 30-35K per year through 04. But yeah, 97's would be a bit more rare due to lower production numbers.

I would think it is hard to say just how many '97 C5s are still out on the road today. Obviously at least some of them have met their demise over the years and without having access to registration records from all states/countries, I don't know how you would come up with a number.

Mine is a Procharged 1997. Maybe most of them are imported to Finland. Seems like the majority of the C5's for sale here are 1997's😅

As far as I can determine my 1997 torch red corvette has been a "garage queen" its whole life. According to the carfax,he orginal owner kept it for 3 years and put a total of 10,500 miles on it. He traded it in to Criswell
Chevrolet, where the second owner bought it. The second owner told me he bought it, because his recently divorced wife told him he couldn't afford it. He kept the car for 13 years and put additional of 26,000 miles on it. I bought it in 2013 and have put an additional 12,000 miles on it. Total mileage currently sits at 48,500. The car is fully equipped with all options available in 1997 except for the Z51 suspension. the only modification I've done to the car is the chrome aftermarket 5 spoke wheels.

The car is the fulfilment of a boyhood dream!!!

Are those small circles right behind the front fender openings turn indicators?

They remind me of conversions that were done to most American cars imported to Japan.

The front indicators had to be visible from the cars blind spot.

Yessir thats what they are, and what makes this law even more interesting is that the rear fender marker lights are illegal. Danger danger 🤣 Don't ask me about the logic behind that...
