I know this was a big topic some time ago. Last I remember, if you needed a new rack, or a good rebuilt one it was difficult to get. Well, I believe the left side of mine is starting to leak. Where can I find a new one, or a good rebuilt one? Thanks.
Drive it to Saginaw and have them or a shop nearby do it, one day trip. Call first and set up an appointment.
That is definitely one way to do it. lol That sir is probably the most expensive way to go about it.
1 A day off of work
2 Pay someone else to pull and put the steering rack
3 Pay for a hoist for the time it is being repaired
4 The gas to get there and back
5 Food for the day
6 Then, the cost of the actual rebuild
I'm sure I may have forgot a thing or two. It's cheaper for me to buy a used one that is rebuilt for $500.00 plus shipping. I have my own hoist, tools, knowledge and so on. Now, if I had none of those and had 1k, and the time to throw at it, I can see where that would be the way to go. I do not mean any disrespect by my reply. I did reason with you, please don't take it personal.
If you can’t be without the car, you might consider buying a seal kit and fixing it yourself. I’d give Turn One a call and see if they sell a kit. I have read of others here on the forum doing it at home…
Does anyone know this person, he said he seen my post and contacted me directly. Seems a little odd. Maybe he's legit, you just neverknow these days. He said his user name is jol.
I'm getting the bad vibes anyways. I asked him and another guy who pm'd me to send a video with today's date and time with my user name. It's such a simple request and so easy to do with today's technology, neither have responded yet...
I think they both are. I reported one of them already. The other is next.
The first guy just keeps on asking for my name and address. The other well not do the video.
Looked into buying one, there seems to be plenty to be found.
I bought a seal kit for mine and plan on installing it. Can't be too difficult, and if it is I will just take it to a hydraulic shop and see if they can do it.
