I have a 2002 C5 Coupe. I have always had issues with how short the head of the wiring bolt is that screws into the battery. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a new bolt with a longer head on it so that my trickle charger attaches more securely. Sadly my charger slipped off the one terminal, the charger failed to keep the charge up and my battery froze.
This is not the worst problem in the world, but just a bit of an annoyance.
I use these for my battery maintainers. The connection plug has a cap that snaps on when not in use. Just hook it up to your battery terminals and leave the cable in the battery box.

I found these on Amazon, extended side posts with accessory connections, and used them to permanently attach my ctek plug-in connection. They work great. I did have to modify the connecting rings, spliced larger ring connectors onto the plug-in connector.
I went with a new DieHard 34/78-4 Silver battery with dual terminals (800 CCA), though the fit was questionable it fit just fine in the stock tray and secured down with the stock fastening block. Connected the stock power leads to the side terminals and my tender/stereo leads on the top posts. I ran the tender wires into the right-side cowling opening for easy hook-ups, and tucks away unseen inside the opening.
