Supercharge or gears???
i talked with 21st Century years back and on my ‘99 they suggested 3.42, slightly better cam and torque converter and that would be quite a difference and enjoyable.
They had done the same on a customer car and said he had no problem at all going up against his friends Z06. And that was 8-10 years ago.
After having a few different cam/heads/gear combos....the supercharger was BY FAR the most smile inspiring modification. However, I 100% required the "whole enchilada" of modifications to get me to enjoy it as much as I do. I needed a lopey cam, headers and exhaust to get the sound I desired. I needed the supercharger to get out of the 425whp range and quench my desire for more power in the C5. And now I need another gear swap to make it complete.
It gets impractical especially from a cost perspective on a depreciating asset. But hindsight being 20/20 I would definitely do most of it all over again (sans some of the money wasting on "cold air intakes" and polished wheels). Knowing what I know now, I absolutely unequivocally would not have waited so long to supercharge it.
OP you have some fun decisions to make. Either direction will be more fun from a performance perspective compared to what you have now. One choice (sticking naturally aspirated with gears) comes with fun factor and potentially longer life for your transmission and engine. The other comes with about 200 (rwhp) more clicks on the fun factor scale, but will absolutely cost you more out of pocket (even if your trans and engine holdup). I'd be more concerned about that 4L60 transmission than the engine (when done right & tuned properly...and driven properly) the LS1 is pretty robust. The 4L60...not so much.

A C5 w 700/700 at the wheels w a 390 rear is a little bundle of joy.
I think you will be happy with whatever route you choose to take.
I am thinking I will start with the gears and maybe work towards the supercharger in the future.....
again thanks everyone...
