If a person wanted to add a CD changer, how hard is it to find a wiring harness for such an endeavor? I don’t ever recall seeing a changer for sale along with the wiring.
Just my opinion but if you want to add the stock 12 disc changer I wouldn’t. It’s garbage. The discs get constantly get stuck. I took mine out. It was hardly used, garage kept and car still doesn’t have 10k miles on it.
new to me 2002 rode great for the 1200 mile trip home. Got home and filled the 12 disc changer. All discs positioned correctly. Seemed like the darn thing was constantly looking for discs but did not load. Battery drain developed shortly there after. Charged and drained quickly. Disconnected 12 disc and not one problem since. May try the suggested removal from bracket and secure horizontally.
If tearing out the harness doesn't require damage to the trunk area, I might sell you my wiring!

Reason: spelling
Are you referring to the connector that I used to disconnect the unit? assume you are referring to a connector at the other end. What/how is it routed?

I was telling the OP to look for the harness in his car, it might already be installed.

That is a very valid reply. I worked for the Packard Electric Division of Generous Motors and many harnesses had leads that were taped back for accessories not installed. Definitely possible wiring is there.

The connector wouldn't be there unless the car was ordered with a changer.
Adding a changer after the fact involves using the "dealer installed" harness that plugs into the car's existing harness below the passenger floorboard.
