Helllo, I have had my mom's 2000 Vet for about four years. i can only drive it on the weekends, as I have historic tags. I don't know where to start in mainitaining the vehicle. I live in the DMV area.

@CPETERSON58 Welcome to the forum. As far as advice on maintaining the car, I am going to move this thread to the C5 General section. You may need to be more specific as to what your questions and concerns are, but give it a try and see what comments are received.
Welcome!
Look at the stickies at the top of the page.
Replace all fluids and anything rubber like belts (tensioners/pulley's/belts are sold in kit form) and hoses. The Coolant tank is plastic, pressurized, and have been known to crack and leak with age. rockauto.com has many GM parts although some things getting to less available as these cars age. Lube the door hinges, the bottom ones are a bit of a stretch to get to. Flush/bleed brakes. MM6 cars, change the fluid with ranger method till you can get a remote bleeder at some point if the drive-train ever has to come out. Clean the udders, Wipe down all the door/roof rubber weather striping with silicone weatherstripping grease or spray. There has been lots of talk of the Harmonic Balancers on these cars, Minimally just mark it with a silver sharpie and keep an eye on it to see if the outer ring slips on the rubber to inner hub Cheap battery mat under the battery is always a good idea to prevent acid spills making it to the cars computer, which sits below the battery. Spray grounds with corrosion preventative, I like Corrosion X or ACF50. Get a good battery maintainer since your only driving it on the weekends.
I have an honest friend in Mt Airy (near Frederick) , MD that works on cars out of his garage, if there is something outside of your comfort zone. PM me if you want his number.
Lots of nice helpful people here. Ask questions...
If you are not a hands on DIY home auto mechanic, I suggest finding a local shop that specializes in Corvettes. With many electrical and mechanical anomalies associated with the C5 platform to review the car's condition and make recommendations. This is not a car to learn car repair skills, IMHO. I suggest contacting the local Corvette Club and ask for recommendations for local repair shops.
Welcome! I have said it to others, you are in the right place. The knowledge and willingness to share it is incredible. Like mentioned start by reading all the stickies, most likely they will answer all your questions and many more you didn't even know you had. That has been my experience the relatively short time I have been here.

Thanks,
As said above, number one is all fluids. Make sure you are using the correct transmission fluid for a manual, you need non-synthetic for a 2000 or you will ruin the blocker rings and have a huge bill, but the fluid does need to be changed. I bought a 2000 with 40k on in a few months ago and did the water pump, coolant, therm and all belts and tensioners. I would suggest you do the same if you want it to be reliable, mileage at this point doesn't matter as it's 25 years old and its time. I also changed plugs and wires, maybe overkill but again these cars are ready time wise. 100% you need a new fuel filter as well! Most of this is really easy to do if you are handy and have some experience working on cars. Contrary to what others have said you can do this yourself, I think this platform is easy to work on. If you don't have a lift you can use a garage or local mechanic to do the fluids as you will need to lift the car. Buy some throttle body cleaner and spray out the throttle body and mass air cleaner and remove and spray as well. YouTube has tons of how to videos to walk you through all of this maintenance stuff. Don;t get cheap and use acdelco or gm genuine parts, lots of luck with yours! Pic for fun!
