Default C5 Door Latch Cover

I was hoping to restore the sound of closing my car doors to that nice original sound. So I bought these lrubber latch covers that they said would fit. Surprise they did NOT fit.
Does anyone have any ideas about restoring that new car sound to closing the doors of their C5?

My passenger door closes with a very satisfying “thunk”, no rattling, no echoing, no grinding, groaning, or multiple clicks.
My driver’s door, however, has some of all those. It appears to me that the difference is the wear on many of the components, and the adjustment of others. The driver’s door sags slightly more than the passenger, so it lifts slightly on the latch — a bit of sliding metal and more than one click. The door seal is more compressed so the door isn’t as nested into the seal. Window mechanism rattles, whether up, down, or midway. And window doesn’t seat into the targa weather strip as well as the passenger.
Some of these I can adjust, but OEM weather strip is gone for good, and the best of aftermarket still isn’t quite as good. The sag I should be able to fix, and the window.
