TPMS for 2003 C5 Z06
That may have more info than you're seeking, but still worth a read if you have extra time.
I have a 2001 Z06, same situation as your 2003 Z06.
- Any 2001-2004 Corvette TPMS sensors work
- 3 years ago I bought and installed these: I might buy a new set for the wheels on my shelf, great value @ $50 and my current ones have shown no issues
- Many modern sensors will use a "trigger tool" instead of a magnet to program them to the car. I used this one for the Moresensor TPMS but there are lots of options:
- Just make sure you understand the correct trigger method for the sensors you buy. Generally speaking you can do this at home; you could program the sensors to the car, marking FR, FL, RR, RL and then take the already-programmed sensors to the tire shop for installation on the wheels.
- Enabling TPMS on your car: you need a Tech 2 or equivalent diagnostic/scan tool. A dealer can do this, any shop that works on GM can do this. Post up in the regional sections and see if someone local can do it for a 6-pack or small fee. I would if you were closer.
Plenty of video's on Youtube showing how to reset the TPMS, you don't need to pay anybody to do it. If you can read and watch a video, you can do it! You can use the magnet, but I bought one of the trigger tools off Amazon and it makes the job quick and easy!
If you buy ones that support both freq's, then you will need to get someone to program them for 315Mhz.

If you have bare wheels (no tires mounted) then yes it is very realistic to install TPMS sensors at home. I had bought a set of tire-less C6 wheels and installed the MORESENSOR sensors on them myself. Then just brought the wheels marked for left/right & front/rear and had the tire shop install tires.
