Who's all running a terminator X Max in their car? Im trying to get ideas on where to mount the computer. I was thinking under the passenger seat since that is a good midpoint for all the wiring. Also wondering how you guys are running your transmission harness? Did you have to extend the harness at all? Where did you run your wires through? All help is appreciated since im definitely not a wiring guru, and am new to the terminator platform.
That one is a large brick to have to stash. I went from Haltech 2500t to R3 which is also a step up in size but not quite so large. For my purposes I am still thinking the R3 may fit up inside the outer passenger footwell but I have not test fit the spot yet.
I would not choose to mount pricy / critical electronics either on the floor where they can get wet or under a seat which moves and could damage the pot or the wiring. Passenger torque tube wall behind the carpet up front may work. Behind the seat mounted to a board, board secured laterally NOT through the back wall into the fuel tank or lines may also work. You could also take the dash apart and find space inside for it. Could also trim the back of the glove box so it won't hit anything when it flips open, but see if the box would fit in there suspended on a bracket under the airbag area. But I would lean towards any position which allows access and removal for diagnostic and/or wiring changes. I'm going to build an excess loop of harness at the R3 in my case for this purpose so I can actually remove it from the bracket and access it easily if needed.
You will find the holley harness is garbage and only allows for mounting in certain places. Make sure to check all pins at connectors to verify they aren't loose.. As well as check to make sure connectors are wired correctly.
Follow their instructions for wiring to the T and you won't screw up.
