Need help from the brain trust... bought a gentex 341 mirror for the Z. Map lights, compass/temp and homelink. I can only get everything to work on the switched 12v from the car. Meaning it all turns off as soon at the foot well lights go out. Connect them to the other orange wire and nothing works. I feel like I tried every combination possible with no luck. Anyone hook one of these up with success?
looks like you actually ran wires to the dude block instead of using the existing mirror harness wires?
what I can't wrap my head around, is there is a switched and constant hot in the existing harness. The switched is on with the for well lights. If I connect everything to that, it all works.... so long as the foot well lights are on. You would think connecting them all to the constant would power up the mirror all the time, but it doesn't. Nothing comes on of I wire it directly that way. Makes no sense to me. Both have voltage.
I'm gong to run it to another switched source and see what happens, but that's always going to bug me.
