Hey Choreo, nice job. Btw, what material did you use for the console and other parts?
If you mean the patterned material, that is a Carbon Fiber patterned leather from Indonesia that Vette Essentials provided back in the day. Never have been able to find a source for it since about 2008.
I used the Course Motorsport one, too. It held up great with my C7Z and I figured it would be more than sufficient with my C5Z.

I just bit the bullet and ordered the Course Motorsport mount for my C7Z off of their website and ordered their mount for my C5 convertible off of Amazon. Both are the non-charging Mag Mounts. Funny because the Course Motorsports listed the C5 non-charging mag mount as unavailable on their website, but I found it on Amazon for $62 shipped.
I have the Pro Clip in my C7Z and although I like it, the mount is a lot bulkier around the passenger grab handle and I think the Course Motorsport version will really help clean that up.
that was my concern with the old one. since I wrapped my bezel in leather, there was no way I was going to use some kind of ‘pressure clip’ on it.
I liked how that little Course unit screws to the frame behind the bezel. but for $50….I was a metal shop teacher 🤞
I purchased my double-din bezel from Vette Nuts and then had it finished in matte CF by a local hydro shop. One of the things I really like about the Vette Nuts bezel is that it has two side spears for additional support that prevents the bezel from pulling off the dashboard like my OEM bezel. Although I like the Pro-Clip mounts, I also don't want to anything working against that fit. Agree on the cost for a bended piece of metal with a ball and magnetic mount is a little crazy....
