I'm looking to replace my factory shocks on my 2003 Chevy Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition. I want to keep the F55 suspension WITH the Magnetic Ride Control/Electronic Suspension. Any suggestions on the numerous different sellers on Ebay for all 4 shocks? I really need some advice on what seller to go with based on experiences from other owners. Thanks in advance,
Shocks are available I think from Davies Corvette, or at least some of them. I have a 50th and it took me awhile to find and get all the shocks. Ebay might still have them.
I'm sure you realize none of those new sets of F55 replacement shocks are oem GM shocks, all are made in china.
I think you are probably as well off to buy whichever ones are cheapest that are coming from a highly rated seller in the U.S., not coming directly from china.
That way you have someone in the U.S. to deal with if you have issues.
Are your original shocks leaking?
That is what one of the shock gurus had said was the measure of whether they were bad, if they are leaking excessively.
Said that many had some small seepage, and that was pretty normal, not bad unless leakage was excessive.
I have them on my ‘new one’ . Always wondered if they really work, and had friends who had to replace them at great expense. Have they come down over the years?
We have yet to hear a review of someone's experience here on the forum with the Chineseum F55's sold on Ebay or Amazon. When I was looking there was only one seller on Ebay that offered a 3-year warranty, but I think you might be able to add an extended warranty via Allstate?
Beware, all the cheap ebay replacements are not real mag ride. They are regular shocks with mag ride simulator connection to fool the computer and not throw an error.
I’m hoping someone can tell me definitely that they purchased the F55 shocks from Amazon or Ebay(specific seller) and know they do not have the simulation connector to fool the computer. That it’s a true F55 electronic shock.
