Default Changes in floor console 12V power outlet

I needed to replace the floor console in my '99 FRC. I found a really nice ultra low mileage used one from a '01 Z06 at one of the Corvette salvage specialist. I removed my old floor console and set it next to the replacement unit and started moving items over; the arm pad lid, key lock, gas door release switch (that was fun figuring out how to remove it without doing any damage) and the 12V power outlet. That's when I realized something had changes over the years. The hole size and shape for the 12V power outlet was redesigned. I double checked the p/n's cast into the underside of console and they were different. The original factory unit was #10247708 and the replacement unit was #10313053. Both of these are now replaced by #12458556. I am not 100% sure of the original model year breaks for these. I think the newer design uses an insert #15187371 that fits in the larger opening. Not sure if the older 12V power outlet will fit into this retainer ring, but that's "the plan" right now. Looks like the new design 12V power outlet also uses a new electrical wire harness connector as well. So if my plan doesn't work, I will need to change over those pieces / parts as well. Always something...

Unless you need to use a cigar lighter or a plug-in that fits, that connector is overkill and uses up valuable real estate. Here's an example of more in the same space:
A Lemo connector provides a 12 volt power source, a lit toggle switch controls an external circuit and an led/ reed switch lights up the console when the lid is open.

Okay time for an update. I received the GM #15187371 retainer today and it did the trick. I inserted the retainer into the hole in newer floor console #10313053, then once you remove (and it can be discarded as its no longer needed) the outer metal retaining shell from the early 12V power outlet #10202970 (as shown loose in the console tray), the older power outlet fits like a glove into the #15187371 retainer. No need to change the 12V power outlet nor the wire harness connector to the later design units.
