Default Orifice Tube Question...

Today I was looking at orifice tubes on C5's. There's an automatic with two different temp colors. A red one for climates under 105 and a white one for climates over 105...Then there's a manual type, usually just white. I was reading that the auto was for better ac performance with the auto air in most C5's. My AC is one with the Auto HVAC in it... when I opened my system up, it had just the regular white orifice tube in it. What is the right one to have in my car?

I believe GM made a change around the ‘01 model year. Earlier model years used to 0.072” diameter orifice tube and later years used the 0.067” inch.

The smaller diameter orifice tube will provide somewhat cooler air out temperatures at low speed and idle conditions in high ambient temperatures. They will also run at higher compressor discharge pressure.
