6060 Swap / C5 Cradle
What I am seeking is a thread on the common 6060 / C6 Z06 Diff swap into the C5. The vast majority have used C6 cradles as I have, but I think I need to use a C5 cradle in my case and I know it was discussed on here how to make this work and I am trying to locate the information.
Maybe crowd efforting the search will yield the result I need.
Why I am looking:
When you swap a 6060 and C6 diff into a C5 the common solution is to use a C6 cradle. From there, if you use C6 LCAs you can then use C6 leafs and be on your way but with the wheels now resting 3/4" rearward. Or you can use C5 LCAs and coilovers (no leaf will align from C6 cradle to C5 LCAs) and be able to retain oem centered rear wheels. I introduced another variable to the swap by using C5 LCAs with coilovers but upgrading my bushings to delrin units by Borg. What I discovered is that with the LCAs rigidly held in place by delrin units, the coilover does not squarely line up with the rubber shock bushing on the LCA. The only way to install it was by force with the bolt warping the rubber bushing. This is with the suspension fully unloaded and dropped. A lesser angle of deviation. If I were to load the suspension and compress it, the angle between the shock bushing and the coilover would become more acute. I don't want to damage expensive coilovers by side loading them. I also still don't want to mount my wheels to the rear if it can be avoided so I want to see what is involved to make a C5 cradle work with C6 diff mounts.
Thanks for the assist!
