I recently purchased my 1st C5 convertible. Love the car. Ecklers used to sell an aftermarket Hardtop for C5s, and I happen to have found one locally for $1000 in the right color, and I am considering purchasing. I was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with these, and if they were worth the expense. Anyone with any experience on these?
In the right color for your car and only a grand?
I'd ****** it up in a hurry if it is in decent shape.
It appears to be in good shape with only a couple nicks on the paint and what looks to be a compromised piece of rubber at the top corner of the driver side window. Do you have experience with one?
if it's in good shape, for $1k, I'd grab it quick. They're kind of a pain, because not like you can take it off while you're driving, but you otherwise get the best of both the vert and the FRC. Grab it (plus that one looks like the big window version)

No first hand experience, just was looking at them when a vert came across my view for sale at a decent price.
A vert was not my first choice, so when my current car came up for sale I quit looking at that stuff.
But, from my research, decent hard tops for verts are few and far between, and all I was seeing at the time were quite a lot more than a grand.
So, as I said, one that matches the car color for only a grand is a good deal.
