Default Custom Fuel rail Covers

I'm planning on customizing the fuel rail covers on my 03, and once done, I'm planning on painting them with a satin clear paint. I am going to need a flexible clear, anyone done this before, and what did you use, and what are some of you folks done on your covers, Let's see them ?

Not satin. But I've painted mine before. What I did was a good day of sanding first. They have a surprisingly rough texture. Also getting sanding done in and around the lettering and the inset straight lines is a bear. But! Once done the rest is a breeze if you take your time and do proper coats. I sanded it again at two points and the final product was like a mirror. A very bright red like torch red. But set sanded to 3k so it was great. No clear applied in that case. But I hope the prep info helped. Patience pays off.

When I still had the LS1. Painted with high temp clear and stick-on SS letters.

Good luck - a custom painted set of engine covers adds a lot to the visual appeal of the car. Post up some pics when you are done.
