Default Custom shifter change out

I purchased a 2002 Z06 with an aftermarket short throw shifter. It's not my cup of tea. Way to notchy. I was reading that a C6 Z06 shifter assembly is a common upgrade.

What are the opinions?

Not sure which one you have, but I have a MGW and very pleased with it. I have also heard nothing but good things for the C6Z one.

I put a t mod customs shifter box in my 02 Z. Really good unit. I have the stock shifter, much smoother.

There are a lot of things that can make a shifter feel notchy. Frankly, most of the shifters out there are the same basic thing, you move the pivot point slightly and reshape the stick... wa-la. I'm pretty sure GM took an aftermarket shifter from a C5 and used it as the template for C6's shifter.

Find out what you have, first, than think about changes
