Default 98 6spd coupe values

Any input on a 98 6 spd coupe value! 60k miles new battery, new tires, corsa exhaust, very clean inside and out 9/10 I’d say. Not many comps in the area to base my decision on.

prices range wildly, any input is appreciated.

Pre-2001 cars have an inferior ABS module, nobody rebuilds them, no conversion to later models available.
Pre-2001 cars got a lower power rating, 345 compared to 350, power upgrade was accomplished by going to the LS6 intake and tuning.
Pre-2001 cars had a few fuel system issues IIRC.
What's the ask for the one you're looking at?

98' MN6 with sport seats, Z51 suspension, memory seat package, both roof panels and Magnesium wheels ($3000 back then, only 233 cars made domestically) are the kinda special things on mine. .Took me three months to find mine, March of 2022. $14k original owner, unmolested, 42,500 miles. Car was in Big Sky, Montana. So not to many tire kickers out there harassing the gent... Drove it home based on the Original owners word and a few pics. I drive it every chance I get. Car now has 74,000 miles on it.
Needed tires (18 years old) and had a leaky butt er' differential axle seal. Then I changed all the fluids. I found it searching on classiccars.com while on lunch at work. My only regret is not buying a C5 sooner in life.
Added a touch of power a couple years ago with CNC ported 243 heads, TSP low lift "Truck" cam and SE headers. Over 20k miles on that stuff now.
I absolutely love the car.

I love this car
I love this car

You did not ask for an opinion other than price of the 1998, BUT if this does not work out I would look for a 2001 and up. You will not regret it! good luck either way!

IMO that is a little pricey considering the negatives for pre-2001 cars.
I think if you keep looking you could find a 2001 or newer in similar shape and miles for that price and maybe even less.

The minor differences of the post 2001 cars are only meaningful to those who spent extra to buy a post 2001 car.

My ‘98 auto with active handling hasn’t seen a shop (just tires) or dealer since I picked it up new (wait - just f’n column lock recall!)
76k now….

There is now a documented and tested upgrade path to the later ABS module.

I just purchased a very clean 1998 6sp with 73K miles. New wheels and tires new battery and magnaflow. Paid 14.5K in New Jersey.
