Default A little help please

I've had several Z06s in my lifetime, C5s and C6s. I haven't had one in quite awhile as I've had M cars over the past almost 10 years. I am now looking for another C5 Z06 and I've narrowed it down to two and wanted to hear some of your thoughts on which one is the more desirable car. The first one is an 02 with 31000 miles with an LS7 with some other mods, all done right. Its EB with mod red interior. The other is Speedway White with black interior. A little over 40k miles with mods as well. Both cars are built right. Which one has the more cool factor or would be considered more desirable?

am thinking the Speedway White is an 01, possibly the least desirable in C5 Zs. jmo
Eb is the way to go am thinking.
but if they ar both built properly, should not matter.

So, someone swapped in a LS7 engine in the '02?
That would be a wild ride for sure.

To me it would boil down to color in this case.

White wins.

Good lord LS7 Electron Blue all day long. Better color, better miles, better motor. Not an FRC fan, personally, or I’d be looking to see how much and where.

I thought the Speedway White was somewhat rare. Maybe not?

If it were ARCTIC white I'd be in in a heartbeat. Dinghy speedway white does not turn my gears.

We all think Speedway looks slick until you see it next to Arctic which I'll post below.

In this case I'd be curious about the LS7 EBz, but only if the LS7 has had the heads fixed and the rods have been replaced so I don't have to worry about titanium coming apart in there either.

I feel the "term" LS7 gets more attention than it is worth vs any other LS based 427 which has no faults.

If you want a coupe with a forged C5-R 427 with Tooley/TEA/AFR heads and cam come take my 49k mile '99 off my hands. It has more work done than pretty much anything out there.

Which one would you choose? Be careful. What has been seen cannot be unseen and soon you will realize ..... hmmm... that sexy FRC only needs a blower and it will rock!

Just have the rods faced and recoated and it's all good. Aside from pistons, taking the rods and crank out just removes the magic lol

Hell even a wet sump LS7 in my C5 would rock! But to be brutally honest, I have trouble putting the power down from my current warmed over LS6 base engine (+400rwhp and +390ft-lbs of torque) with the stock body and 295 rear tires. With any larger or higher output LS engine, I would be looking for wide body options and 325-345 rear tires. There are also other things to consider with the LS7 swap, you mentioned "done right", what exactly does that entail? Was anything done to the transmission or the C5 differential and mounts to handle all the added torque? What brakes are on the car? You are going to need a whole look more whoa to go along with that extra go. Have all the fluid cooling system been upgraded? Has the fuel system been upgrade to handle feeding the beast? Lots of things to consider to truly have been "done right".

Brother.. I have no issues at 600+ whp with 3.90s and a Z06 trans ratio on a 275/40R17 Et Street R.

If you have some basic road tires then sure, it might be a bit tricky lol

Very true, but most folks don't daily drive on a set of Mickey Thompson drag radials either

There are plenty of tires that have enough tread pattern to expel water to not kill yourself that would work with that power level.

I drive my C5 year round cold to hot, 725 foot pounds to the tire PD blower 408 on 295 Toyo Proxes Sports lol. It is more manageable than you think.

I do usually leave the traction control on and while it is not perfect I have adapted to it better than most. Some C5 owners say it is awful, I find it works well with my combination and is not scary when it activates.

I enjoy spinning tires and don't have any desire to mess around with sticky tires on the street.

I would go with the EB with LS7 car. Sounds like a very cool car.

Absolutely stunning find!. A couple questions concerning the LS7, is that a GMPP crate engine? Is it a wet sump setup (I can't see a dry sump tank in the photo) and if so, which oil pan does it have?
