Wondering what Hagerty's definition of " pleasure drive " is . I think it is a pleasure anytime I get in the seat , turn the key put in drive and go . Doesn't matter the destination or if I even have one .
Can't use it for your daily driver, to go to work, take on vacation, etc.
You can use it for going out to dinner, car shows, short pleasure drives, etc.
I'll probably be going with Hagerty for my 26 HTC Stingray when it gets delivered. I work from home and already have what could be considered a daily (Audi etron).
With a generous 3,000 miles a year and a value of $100,000 it comes out averaging $90 a month. Paying upfront full year for a discount. USAA quoted me $154 a month.
I have the State Farm Classic + Policy. It is relatively new for them and they partner with Hagerty on this. I have all the standard coverages. I do not think there is a mileage restriction, but even if it was 6k a year, I wouldn't worry about hitting it lol.
What is nice about this are the coverage/endorsements for this. Two that are pretty cool are the Vehicle Under Construction (20 dollars per year) which increases the Guaranteed Value by 10% quarterly (value has a limit though of 25k over the initial value). This covers anything you may add to the car over the years so you do not need to continually update the insurance company of the changes/raise the value on your own.
The second is the Cherished Salvage endorsement. What happens here is if the vehicle is totaled, you will receive the Guaranteed Value of the car, but, you also get to keep the car. Let's face it, unless the car burns down completely and there is nothing left of it, then there would be plenty to salvage if it is just a bad accident.
No matter which agreed-value carrier
If You overstate the value, and then suffer a large loss (one where you prefer a Total loss), you may have great difficulty achieving Total status; just sayin'
Hagerty never asked me for mileage on renewal. Any agreed value policy I’ve had quotes the value they have the car assessed at. You either agree or pay more to raise the assessment.
I have State Farm classic + and I have read the policy . Their pleasure drive statement is rather vague . I was curious what other forum members thought .
