Default C5 throwout bearing

Has anyone had any experience with a shop in the Stuart Florida area replacing the Clutch Release bearing?

2003 Z06 with 69000 miles

If you are going to spend that much money to have it all taken apart to replace the TOB, you definitely should do the clutch as well, because it takes the same amount of disassembly to get to the TOB as it does the clutch itself.

Personally, I would take it to C&S Corvette in Sarasota and have them also look at the torque tube and clutch as well. Do everything at once and cry only once with the labor charge.

3 hour drive, on a good, and Florida traffic has very few good days.

After a frustrating attempt to use a local Stuart Florida garage that allegedly had experience with Corvette Torque tubes (4 days and they said they were still getting prices on parts) I had it re-towed to Eisman Corvette in Jupiter Florida. I'll post results.

Eisman put in a new C6 Z06 flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, re-sealed the rear, changed trans and rear end fluids. Clutch and shifting feel great now. $ 6200, steep but it's the first maintenance, except oil, filter and tba, in 20+ years and 69K miles.

As long as you are happy and the car is repaired. I look at it this way $6200/20years is a $310 per year. Not bad at all.
