I was looking to upgrade headlights and was looking at Summitt Racing LED. Has anyone tried them? How did install go? Are they plug and play? I wanted to keep OEM look but also be able to drive at night without hitting anything.
TIA!
there are a number of bulbs out but the key is getting the right bulb design and clocking it correctly.
You don’t need $800 lights to fix the issue. Unless you want them that is.
I tried LED bulbs and they did give more light but not as focused as the stock incandescent bulbs. I did index them in the housings. Drove with them for a couple months but wasn't happy. Hate to spend the money but finally did. I liked the Bi-LED ACA headlights above but ended up going with the Knightdrive sleepy eyes. Either way I think it's worth the money for the increased visibility.
Even if you index you must use the correct type of bulb too.
Like I said the bottom line is you can change bulbs and do it safely and see a massive improvement to the cars lighting. You will have more than enough light to be safe.
If you want more or aftermarket lights that is fine but you do not need to go aftermarket to be safe and have more than enough safe lighting lighting.

Both the Bi-LED from sharp lights and the knight drives are great options. I went with the sharp light innovations. That's actually my car in the pics that Radio flyer posted. (Nighttime pics from in the car)They are 100% worth the money!
I tried cheaper LEDs for awhile. They are definitely brighter than stock, but the light scatters horribly. The light pattern blinds other drivers and actually makes seeing things at a distance harder. The ACA headlights were a night and day difference. They provide a smooth light pattern with a clear cutoff that prevents blinding other drivers. At the same time they greatly improved distance visibility as well. I haven't had a single issue with them since I've installed them. They are hands down the best headlights I've ever had on any vehicle I've ever owned.
For the record, I do not work with and am in no way sponsored by Sharp light innovations. This is just my honest opinion.
