My Corvette
She was given to me from my great uncle, but since I was still a minor I technically didn’t own it. However, I think y'all could help me find her.
She was a 1998 base model coupe, with the hard top convertible. She was black, with black rims, and a bit of paint fade on the roof, hood and trunk. She had around 108k miles when sold so probably not alot more now, and the 6-speed.
I wouldn’t be so pissed if the money went towards buying me a car, which my parents agreed to; but my mother sold her and the trailer for no more than $7k, along with our other car for like $1300, and kept the money.
All I have is my 05 Sebring with 63k miles on it, I dont know if I’ll have any cash for if I find her. I’m in Central Texas and she was sold around Fayetteville NC.
I would suggest not searching for that particular car, if you want a C5, then just find yourself a good one somewhere and buy it.
I found my 2002 on FB Marketplace in decent shape for $12K.

Also I am monitoring marketplace, but Im in college and dont have 10-15k to spend on a car. I just feel like I’d have a better shot at getting a more reliable car in here at the very least.
You sound young and in collage and hampered by the lack of funds. I would just focus on reliable transportation and getting graduated and into a solid job then go Corvette hunting.
I know it is not as much fun but you will find a better car and be able to not only afford to buy it but to be able to deal with any issues or repairs that will come about.
There is nothing worse than having a cool car but no money to deal with it.
Unless you have a particularly tight love for this particular car due to the uncle I would just focus on what is important now. There will be time with more money for cool cars. It comes with education. Unless you are in Art. LOL!

Also god no, i would never touch humanities nor art.
A low budget college student doesn't need to be looking at Corvettes, you need something cheaper to buy and much more budget friendly to keep while you're in school.
Buy a chitbox toyota or honda, something cheap to drive, more budget friendly.
When you get out of school, then look for a good Corvette when you get that new high paying job.
As for mom don’t let anger get in the way. Mom is more important than any car. Also anger can lead to bad decisions. My buddy bought a car out of anger because dad said no. Well the engine let go right after he got it.
As for speed you can afford more either way a degree and savings. Don’t rush into this.
Philosophy is a good degree that does not pay but at least you know why. Lol.!
Keep in mind not telling you what to do just relaying experience I have already dealt with. I had others save me from myself more than once.
Best to buy the best car you can as just a paint job can cost as much as the car. On a C5 the difference between a $10k car vs a $15k car can be a lot.
