Got my first c5 on wednesday and the previous owner gave me a pioneer display to put in, turns out i actually have no idea what im doing and its beyond stressing me out
If you buy the right adapters it is easier, but you'll probably still end up having to butt splice some wires together or something. There is probably a lot currently connected to the radio which you won't need / use / want.
You'll also want to search for an appropriate double din mount for the C5. I know VetteNuts sells some, but others must also.
Great unit once you get it hooked up. I still run an 8200Nex.
First, browse the audio/electronics forum. There are lots of threads on this subject. Including installation and adapters required.
Second, that wiring job is a hack job! You will have to remove it and start over.
Third, that SWI module is for a car with steering wheel controls. The C5 does not have those, so that H/U was from some other car.
Good luck
I bought the double din bezel from vettenuts, the PAC-ROM-VET1 Bose system adapter, Metra 40-GM10 antenna adapter from Amazon and the DMH-W4660NEX from Best Buy. Then I went to a local installer and they installed it all for me for $500.
