Made a simple storage wall rack for the extra targa top when not used. Out of the way and secure. Wife gave up her hands (she never did the dishes anyway).
Not sure how you secured the top, but the bungee seems risky. Were it me, I might fab a padded strap from top to bottom in the center which can clasp at one end so the $1200 to replace, also mint appearing, tsrga top doesn't become a door stopper if bumped.
Pro tio: I never trust my wife's soft hands not to drop something valuable.

First, swap those hands around so it doesn't look like she's a monster.. Palms up = thumbs out.
Second, the wrong wind gust and that shiny smooth top could easily slip the earthly shackles of that bungee. it's only hanging by a thread... at least move it lower down the top.
The bungy cord really doesn't do anything. It is quite secure without it. The top sits in a pretty deep groove in center support. Thanks for the concern. Anyway it never gets windy here in Florida. ha ha
I did something similar (no, I didnt cut my wife's hands off!) using rectangular padded ladder hangers on bottom, and a j-hook padded hanger on top that I can turn to hold the top from falling out.
I do agree with the guys...the bungee really should be changed to something that would hold the top from falling out in a wind.
I may be breaking ad infatum numbers of forum rules with this post... showing a picture of where to buy something.
I bought a product very similar to the one in this picture. Simple rack that has correctly spaced notches that hook to the front latches. Distance from wall creates an angle where roof is balanced and no risk of falling. Very comfortable hanging both plexiglass and fiberglass tops, even in protective cover.
They are not expensive at all. Save yourselves the debate and get the right part for the job.

person can probably purchased a manufactured product for about almost anything. I prefer making something that I need by myself if possible. All these concerns that this is gonna happen or that's gonna happen to me is unfounded. Just like Al Gore and all of his future unfounded gonna happens. Some of us take pride in what we can accomplish on our own.
