im not sure where else to ask this so ill post here, ive seen a bunch of c5s with stickers on their windows and stuff for track or thier insta panhandle but the statute for florida is a bit fuzzy on the legality or maybe i just cant understand, im trying to ask if anyone else in florida has received trouble from police for their window decals, i was thinking of putting a 25”x3” streetcarspecial decal on the bottom of my side window as seen in the picture but i might relocate
This is a tough sale for this crowd in general. Most of the C5 folks are a bit older and tend to prefer their cars stock or near stock. You're bringing up a newly trending thing that folks are doing to their cars and this crowd will invariably tell you not to do it.
I'm not sure about the laws in Florida about that--even though I live in Florida but, I can tell you that they're getting less and less tolerant with modified cars on the road these days. I'd ask your local municipality to see if they have any feedback for you. They're likely going to tell you that you shouldn't but, I don't think they're going to tell you it's illegal.

We all went though things that sounded good at the time and later were upset we did it or glad we did not do it.
The key to car design and styling is will it look good 10-20 years from now. This is a principal that has never changed. Every era has there mistakes in style. 60s-70s-80s-90s- etc.

i agree for permanent changes, but the decal im getting is removable with a heat gun and a credit card, im confident it will look good for what im planning to do to the car, if i ever feel different its not a ton of effort to remove it. you can say that for most bolt on cosmetic changes actually

It must be a local thing as we see nothing like this here Ohio outside a drag car. I have seen it with low rider clubs when I am out in California and the street take over crowd which no one should emulate.
I almost made the same mistakes years ago. I'm glad I did not do much of what I was thinking. I either stopped myself or a buddy stopped me. Now that I have had the car 40 years there are no regrets. GM even borrowed it for one of their events. I must have made the right choice.
Yes this one can be removed but the next idea may not be that easy to reverse. Just ask the guys with bad Lambo doors. Just saying.

Like you said, you can always remove it if/when you get tired of it. I ran my SICKWEEK stickers on the top of my windshield on my F150 for almost a year before I finally took them off. I have some small 2inch by 5 inch stickers with American flags and my name I run on that spot you are talking about for drag and drive events. I eventually take them off. I'll have them on my C5 in 3 weeks for SICKSUMMER. I'll take them off eventually after I get home, but I run them for the event and not just to have them on the car.
You have to use care as some windows will fade with some decals on them. I have seen it on windshield headers etc.
A friend has a drag car from the 60's and his class numbers are burned into the tinted windows. In his case it is kind of cool as the car was second at the US Nationals in 1960 in superstock.

I know you are in a C5 forum, but I'm guessing you haven't had your C5 since 1986....
OP, do what you want. I highly doubt any cops are going to care about a sticker unless you are doing some other stupid stuff. In my experiences, as long as you're being normal, they will let a lot go. And if they pull you over for a sticker and find nothing else, they look really stupid.
