My wife and I were coming back from the hospital, Thursday, and had a flat on my daily driver Ford Edge SUV. Its Goodyear tires still have plenty of tread but are actually 9yrs old. Was planning to buy new tires this Summer but a tiny nail changed that timeline, it seems. Sidewalls have lots of age cracks. Oh well, another $1,000+ down the tubes.

I wouldn’t be so quick to bash Michelins. That’s akin to complaining about your last Bentley, lol. Not trying to brand argue, but Michelins are the highest customer rated tires for general use. Do they have strengths and weaknesses? What doesn’t. Are they expensive, yes. But define expensive…. $1200 for a Michelin, to $1100 for Continentals, down to $900 for the next tiers. So for the life of a tire the difference is $100 or so a year. Anyways, that’s how I look at it. YMMV.
😎
if you read my statement all have good and bad with the top line companies. Cup 3 pilots yes are great tires but the ones on my wife’s GMC’s and my SS sucked because they were cheap OE Michelins. The Goodyear I put on were Weather Ready tires and they are not half won out at 25k miles when the Michelins were used up at 25k miles.
As for Bentley is a great car till 100k miles then it becomes a money pit. This is why you can buy them used at $35k. You might want a better example. That is how it is.
Each company that is large offers tires for various price points. Most are pretty equal with the big name brands. Tire size availability is the major issue. So many limited sizes.
