Got my car back Wednesday, below is the report from the dealer. I posted the problem HERE. I will say the dealer treated me great, and my car had a little under 3 miles added to it when I got it back (even though the reciept says different)...still 3 miles is acceptable for a test drive to me....
Just thought I'd share, and for those of you in Houston, these guys get a :thumbs: on this go round....

Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (jgmachine)
I had the same thing done to mine last year, it seems to shift much better than it ever did before. :D:
I'm glad to hear you got yours taken care of. :yesnod:

I had put some synthetic in to help the tough shifting, it did help but like you, it shifts even better than before (even after the syn fluid)! I had problems getting it into third gear under agressive driving situations (missed 3rd a number of times at the track), so seemingly (and obviously) there was always a problem there.
Thanks for the :thumbs: guys and gmblack3 thanks for the tip...I'll definetly do that 5K or so down the road....
Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (Z06 Quin)
glad to see ya back up and runnin. mines finally fixed after the second attempt, same problem that you had..........i am starting to see more and more tranny problems than anything else... :(
Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (u luz)
Quin,
I've got a problem with my '01 that sounds a little different than yours. I am having problems shifting into 4th gear following a full-throttle run in 3rd. If i try to shift too fast, 4th gear won't engage, the gears grind and the motor revs to redline. Was your problem similar prior to getting stuck in 4th gear?
Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (C54CSTER)
Christian,
I would have trouble getting it into 3rd.....it was like a gate was shut....I would try 2 or 3 times and give up...put it on 4th and coast down the track....pretty frustrating. I haven't been back yet to see how it will act now, but it seems easier than before to get it into gear....
Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (Z06 Quin)
Quin,
Thanks for the additional info. Sounds like my problem is similar. I can't get mine into 4th, almost like the gate won't open fast enough for the shift. If i shift sloooooooowly, it will go in. Not too good for racing though. :mad

Christian
EXACTLY how 3rd felt to me........how many miles on your Z?
Re: Z06 Back Home....Damage Report Inside ==> (Z06 Quin)
I've only JUST turned 6k miles, Quin. I can't believe something could have broken already. Now if i can just figure out a way to get them to only drive my car for 3 miles for testing as they did on yours. When i had my '97 coupe i brought it in because it kept popping out of gear and reverse had completely gone away. When i got the car back it had been driven about 45 miles!!! :cuss :cuss
