I was wondering if you guys though this HRE setup would look good on my car in a 19x9 front and a 20x10 rear with the charcoal centers...please post your opinions...
i like the wheels and i like the dark centers. if i had a yellow z i would most definitely have dark wheels. but i am not sure about the 19/20 combo. i have heard that going to large has adverse effects of handling/ride.
The bigger rims may look cool, but will hurt ride quality and reduce handling performance. You need the extra spring+damper behavior of the stock profiles to maintain good handling/ride performance. If you went to an overall larger rolling diameter, and could keep a reasonable sidewall profile, then you could get away with it. However, such wheels and tires may not fit and would require a speedometer recalibration (and will affect acceleration performance unless you swap the rear end gears).
I like the wheels and think they will look great on your car. However, like some others, I want to hear the opinions, experience of Members with 19/20 combos before I believe them to be right for me.
Particularly, C5-Vert has a set of 19/20 on order. Michael knows Vettes, racing, handling, etc. and once he gets his and has a few miles on them I'm sure he will tell us good news/bad news. There are a number of Members whose opinions I would also trust, I just happen to know Michael.
Before spending the big dollars I need some assurance they could be right for me.
They maybe perfect for you! :chevy :flag :chevy :flag
I think they look OK, but I will chime in with some of the things previously posted:
1) I have read a lot of negative comments about ride quality and handling when going to the 19/20 combo
2) (again my opinion) If I were going to different wheels I would either stay with the same width or go wider. There isn't a snowballs chance that I would go to a narrower rim. We can use all the rubber on the ground that we can get as it is.
Just my $.02
