Yet another clutch problem...
Well I just had the entire clutch assembly replaced for the "firm clutch pedal/sticking halfway" problem a couple of weeks ago. After having to take it back for the shifter being misaligned and not going into gear properly, everything seemed to be working fine. But then leaving work last night I went to shift from 1st to 2nd and the clutch pedal went to the floor. I could pull it up, but it wouldn't disengage the clutch. Dealer says they will get on it first thing this morning, but this is really starting to **** me off. I've only had the car about a month and a half, and it's spent half that time in the shop. Compared to the Z, the 92 has been much more reliable. :mad I thought GM was supposed to have gotten better over the years, not worse! :banghead: :banghead:

Re: Yet another clutch problem...
I did ask about the 02 clutch, the GM tech center calls for replacement with the 01 parts. :mad At least it was fully covered under warranty. :D
Also, this time the clutch pedal problem is different from the "hard pedal/sticking halfway problem". Something actually broke and the clutch pedal no longer has any control over engaging/disengaging the clutch.

Re: Yet another clutch problem...
Just got off the phone with my service advisor, apparently some kind of retainer was not installed/not installed properly. :mad
Pisses me off as this is the second little thing that was missed during the clutch replacement that has become a major issue. First, the shifter was off by 1/16" and caused it to be almost impossible to put into 1st or 2nd, now this retainer problem. At this point I'm beginning to wonder what else may have been left off or done improperly. And this all by the best Corvette tech in Oklahoma. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
My clutch did not last long at all when i started racing it. It could stuck to the floor. I replaced it with a ram that was even worse but now i have a cartek clutch and it feels great.
