First off, I don't have a Z06 but I have wondered about something.
Why wasn't the Z06 offered the sport seat option? I assume it is because of weight but I don't know the difference between the sport and standard seat.
Even if the sport seat is heavier it seems to me that the seat in the Z06 should have had, at the very least, the adjustable side bolsters of the sport seat.
Doing a little autocrossing showed me how great that feature is. Even a manually operated **** adjustment for the side bolsters of the standard seat wouldn't have added enough weight to worry about.
It justs seems odd that the Z06 can pull more lateral G's than the Coupe or Vert but the Coupe and Vert get seats that are more capable of holding you in place under a lateral G situation.
Weight and money savings. GM made the Z06 to recoup the investment in the low selling FRC. Not having a seat options makes the car less expensive in two ways: 1. Cheaper seat 2. Less time on assembly line.
But you are right, manuel side bolsters would be nice.
