Just had new tires mounted and when the wheel weight was removed it revealed an inch long scratch. Just wonder if anyone has had to touch up their wheels and if so, with what?
GM PB9789. Its called light metalic gray. I believe it was factory issue from gm in 1995. basically an old stock color. I bought a touch up tube at wal-mart for $2.97 today. I brushed a curb and scratched the wheel. Matches perfect. But because it is painted on and not airbrushed or painted on with a gun. It looks a little like it was painted on with a brush. but from 3 feet away you cant even see the scratch. cheap fix in my book
Where can I get this stuff? Someone said WalMart, is it sold as GM brand or what? Anywhere else? I let the G/F drive the car for a week while I was out of town, should have known better. Can you say curb rash???
Walmart has it not sure what brand it is but they have a book of paint code by car maker you can cross reference. the color is light grey metallic. Do that or call the dealer and they should have it available. I went to discount auto before walmart and it was in there book but they didnt stock it. The color cameon a 92-96 gm car. The color is now used on the 02 and 03 z06 wheels.
Sorry but i totally disagree with that statement. I have used 9789 and it matches perfect cant even see the scratch anymore. it wont match 01 wheel paint. I think you have it backwards.

That's strange. That's exactly opposite of my experience. Are you sure you don't have a 2002 with 2001 wheels? Some 2002's had 2001 wheels when Speedline couldn't meet the wheel demand. The 2001 wheels were definitely darker. Who is the manufacturer of the paint from Wal-Mart? I'll go check it out and compare it to the other 2 sources I have of 9789 (Paint Scratch and Plastikote).
BTW, I airbrushed mine and clearcoated it and did get a perfect repair that you can't tell was repaired. No exageration. I had to blend silver with the 9789 to get a perfect match.
