I am relatively new to the corvette world. Have always loved the cars. I have an opportunity to purchase a 2001 Z06, perfect condition, 1800 miles, for $39500. Is this a fair buy. Anything I should look for. How good is this vette compared to the 2000 hardtop. Thanks

Re: 2001 Z06 Advice Needed
:iagree: Either get a lower price on the 01, or go for an 02. I paid $34K for my 01 3 months ago. Granted it had 13K miles and I got a really good deal, but that price is just to high for an 01. If the $39K isn't a problem for you, definitely go for the 02. As much as I love mine, if I had it do over again I'd get an 02. At this point, I've had every issue that exists on the 01s, and mine is a late year car. So far I've had:
clutch problems: fixed properly after three trips by replacing entire clutch system
cracked trim above driver's door: fixed properly after two trips
oil consumption: haven't gotten in to start the consumption test yet
rocking driver's seat: haven't gotten in for fix yet
I have to disagree with the guys. I like low mileage and pay a little more for a car with low mileage. $39,500 is a little high but not $8K to high. I bought my 01 last month and it had 702 miles on it. I paid $37,500 for it delivered to my house. I would talke the guy down a little more and then go for it.
