I just got home from a little trip up the coast from San Diego to Seattle and back - yes, I killed some bugs along the way - I may wash it this weekend if I get around to it, probably not... didn't buy it to keep it nice for someone else.
Living where I do, I always see people driving their porches/ferraris/vettes/etc like they have a cop right on their tail.....in my opinion, if you are going to spend the $$ on a car like that, drive the poopie out of it like you stole it!!!
If you are going to worry about dings, chips, etc, you will never enjoy the car......
Yes.And not just any bug will do it. We demand the juiciest of the lot. Got a bug with a little stomache flu? There'll be a Vette along any minute now.
So I manage to get some alone time with my Z tonight. So, my bright idea is to go out cruising a little. I maybe go out for about 45 minutes, only to come home and find the entire front end and windshield covered with BUG CARCASSES (suicidal little bastards). I swear it just makes me want to leave my car in the garage.... :rant:Rich
I wash the front of my car EVERY night when I come home.........and apply Zaino weekly which helps to make the bugs NOT stick!
I live near rice farms. Lots of bugs out in the country. Also, I use the local car wash a lot to blow the bugs off the front end. Use Zymol when I wax it. I take it to the car wash most often to wash the rubber out of the fenderwells.
True, I hate that as well but at the end of the day its a car so drive it have fun with it (cleaning is part of the fun, no?)
P.S
Bugs are ten times better then snow
Agreed. Had my vert out a lot this weekend and the front is spattered with bugs, and some of 'em look as though they were some big juicy buggers, too :U I'm tapped out for the evening, so she's gonna have to wait until tomorrow after work for cleanup.
Yeah its dirty out there , but dead bugs are better than rocks and dust that might scratch the paint , I hate the rocks that hit when I have to pass a truck. The dealer said i cant put wax untill after a month cause the paint isnt totally dry. but I think Dirty Black is a kewl look too, atleast for a few hours :blueangel:  http://hometown.aol.com/gearheadgirl...ollection.html

Whaddaya trying to do, save the car for the next owner????
And what makes you think that there will ever be another owner of this Z06. Out of all the Vettes from generation 1 through 5. I have loved this generation more than any other. I have absolutely loved the C5's since their inception in 1997 (the year I graduated from college) and I knew it was only a matter of time until I had one, and I got the best of the best in the Z06. So, again, I ask you why would I want to save my car for the next guy....when I'm saving it for me...........
