i've always been afraid of wheel cleaners.some have acid in them.i use soap and water when washing the car.if i'm not washing the car i use zaino Z6 and an old towel.i have several coats of zaino on the wheels and i feel that this makes them easier to clean.hope this helps.
All modern aluminum wheels have an acrylic urethane clear coat so caring for them is the same as the body - soap and water for washing and occasional waxing.
Since brake dust can be tough to get off, especially if a badly dusted wheel is driven in the rain, a really bad case might call for a specialty product designed to clean clear coated alumiunum wheels, and you should find a variety of such products at any auto parts store.
The secret to keeping the wheels looking good is to keep them waxed and wash them frequenly and thoroughly using old natural bristle paint brushes and old tooth brushes to get into all the nooks and crannies, and work the rags and brushes deep between the spokes to keep the inside face of the rim clean.
If the dust is really hard to get off try some Pro Honda spray cleaner [but spray it on a rag, not directly on the wheels as it contains wax as well as cleaner]. Good stuff for the exterior surfaces also. https://www.corvetteforum.com/review...=366&TopicID=9
