Default Made the switch!!!

Traded my 01 Mustang GT for an 02 Z06. What a killer car. This car is just stupid fast. I have three questions:

1) I know I'm being paranoid, because I just bought the car. But, I want to be sure that I got what I paid for. I want to be sure that the car has never been damaged or wrecked. The dealer gave me a copy of the Carfax (clean), gave me "his word" that it had never been wrecked, being that they consider these things when they buy used vehicles, and I haven't found any evidence of overspray, but how can I be 100% sure? There is one thing that concerns me. On the inside of the door panel(not on the door, but by the door latch, just above the rear brake duct) there are 2 little hardened paint bubbles. Could this be a simple factory paint blemish, or could it be evidence of previous paint work? Sorry, this is so long. Any response is appreciated.

2) How do you remove the stock shift ****?

3) What is the best first mod?

Thanks, Josh

The paint can be a factory blemish. There is a possibility that the car could have been damaged prior to dealer delivery, and or on their lot. The dealer does not need to disclose this to you if the damage was below a certain dollar amount. I believe it is 500 dollars. It may vary from state to state. I wouldn't worry about it. If the car looks and drives good, you should be fine.

The **** is kind of a pain. There is an article in tech tips that should help you out there.

Here you go: https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=28&TopicID=1

The best first mod is an air intake of some sort. IMHO I think the Donaldson Blackwing is the best bang for the buck. Especially on the Z since the screens in front open right up to where the filter will be. The donaldson also pops in place just like the factory unit. I picked up 11 horspower on the dyno without letting the computer relearn. You should be able to find a forum vendor that will sell you one for about 200 bucks. Sometimes there is a used one for sale in the parts for sale section.

Congratulations, and welcome to the other side! :reddevil

I would not worry too much about the body. The factory paint sucks anyway. If the frame and suspension are straight you are fine. That's the nice thing about fiber glass if crack or break a piece just get a new one, paint it and bolt it on.

The shift **** is a pain. Do a search on it then pick your poison.

The best first mod is driving lessons.
