Hey guys and girls I have a question for those of you who have a partition. Is your car noticably quieter with the partition in and do you all think that it is worth it to put one in?
If any of you have a stealthbox or similar sub in the trunk, does the partition affect the apparent output in the cabin at all? I would assume it would, but the degree is what I'm interested in..
Built my own from 1"foam board and 4"soft foam. Fits perfectly in the narrow part between the two chambers, so to speak. Foam board to ensure shape. Soft foam to ensure no gaps for 4". Quiet. Covered in matching rug with C5 Waterfall emblem and Z06 405HP emblem. Looks very good. Held in place by velcro. Removes or installs in about one minute. Total cost including 3M glue, $75.
I've got one of Andy's partitions, the only problem I have is it's a very tight fit with the rear mat installed. So far I haven't had to drill for the straps, it's that tight, as a matter of fact does anyone remember the drill size for Andy's snaps??? Oh and yes it does make the cabin alot more livable, not that I hear all that well.
Get the partition, no matter where or make your own, but get one. The noise reduction is nice the stero is much better and the AC/Heater does not have to deal with that whole after section. It also makes the car look finished, not almost done but I fought something, like GM left it.
