Re: 2003 Motor Trend High-Speed Shootout (21STCENTURYMUSCLECAR)
Oh come on now you guys, pretending like you don't care is ridiculous given the overwhellming number of posts on this board about beating Vipers or wanting to beat Vipers. Just when we were feeing good about catching up with the Gen II Viper, Dodge comes out with a new Viper that is very fast indeed, and it's a convertible.
I have a Z06 and a Viper so I like both cars, but to pretend that the comparison of Vipers and Vettes does not mean anything too you is a joke. I guarantee that if the Viper didn't post such good results you'd be on it like a bad smell.
Re: 2003 Motor Trend High-Speed Shootout (rbartick)
Ok why don't we wait and see what the C6 high performance version does to the Viper. The Viper is all new and the Z06 is almost three years old. So why don't we have another post in a year to a year and half when the new C6 kicks some Viper a**
Sadly, GM will not have the ***** to equip the C6 w/ any ground breaking speed (much faster than C5 + faster than z06). Although the c6 z06 will be very interesting.

:iagree:
Fact is, the Gen 3 snake is one hell of a car and the bar has once again been raised. Hopefully the C6 will challenge it.

Re: 2003 Motor Trend High-Speed Shootout (505ci V-10)
You guys are to funny . Sorry, I just thought you were car enthusiasts not just Vette freaks. There is a ZO6 involved in the shootout so it is Vette related, just thought you wanted to know thats all. Looks like this post touched some nerves.
Re: 2003 Motor Trend High-Speed Shootout (trumper Z06)
I agree that these are very impressive numbers. BUT, these cars are going for $20k to $25k over sticker due to limited production. That would put them in the over $100k range. In my opinion the Viper isn't worth it, all things considered. For me, and I know I'm biased, but the Corvette is the best bang for the buck. Not only that a few grand in mods and the Z06 will blow the SRT-10 out of the water and still not cost the $84k sticker not to mention the dealer markup.
Re: 2003 Motor Trend High-Speed Shootout (505ci V-10)
Thanks for leting us know how great the srt10 is. I look forward to getting this issue to read the whole story, on how good the srt goes and is, especialy since we will never see the vert srt run againt us on a real track without a roll bar, to bad realy;) Oh by the way, was the excesive heat problem fixed on your car? The mag's sorta slamed the pre-production SRT, diden't they? We all GOTA? be humbled, that a 505ci dodge runs a little quicker than our 346ci chevy.:D Give me a break 505. Enjoy your car. Ric
