Well, didn't get my new toy yesterday. Apparently it wasn't just waiting around to have the PDI done. I come to find out that they raped my new daughter of her tranny for a different customer before I bought the car, and have ordered a new tranny from GM. Supposedly I should get her tomorrow or Thursday, but I'm finding that pretty fricking hard to believe. Needless to say I'm fairly pissed off at the moment.
We have gone from "The car is at the other store so it'll be about 30 minutes to get it here." to "It is just off the truck, and hasn't had the PDI yet, you'll get it tomorrow." to "we gave the tranny to a customer that just bought a z06 and had tranny problems, but we have a new one on order."
By the way, This is Anderson Chevrolet in Los Gatos CA. that i am dealing with. I just hope that I get the factory survey so I can rip them a new butt.
Is this a new car purchase? I would not take delivery of this car if they already swapped the transmission. I would head to another dealer. :iagree: :mad :nono:
best regards -

Is that going to be a new, re-built, or a re-conditioned tranny, run as fast as you can!
:nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
There are plenty of Forum vendors who would be glad to find you a new one. If the dealership has flat out lied to you then ... as far as I am concerned the deal would be dead. :mad
I'd have to call :bs on that. Ask to see the car. I'll bet it's not there. I can not believe they would do that for Dave Hill himself. You need to go elsewhere.
Ok! Now Ive heard everything  , I can't believe a dealer would use one new corvette as a parts Ie: junkyard car... that is truly amazing :bs I think what would be closer to the truth is that they encountered tranny problems somewhere in shipment, now that sounds like the way a dealer thinks, the other senario is just too
That is simply incredible! :mad :mad :mad :mad I would not accept this car and find another dealer. A guy at work just bought a new 50th anniversary coupe for 45k here in Houston so believe me the dealers are desparate to sell vettes. Hard to believe that a dealer would scavenge a brand new sold but not delivered car to fix another car. :smash: :smash: :smash:
Well, I just spoke with Bob Breeding at the Corvette assembly plant in KY. He informed me that indeed they do VIN stamp the trannies, so this is in fact a devalued vehicle.
So for anyone looking for an Electron Blue Z06, be wary of VIN # 1G1YY12S435127091
It is officially tainted.
Thanks for the input folks, I am indeed not taking delivery of this car.
damn damn damn, now I have to start the search all over again. :mad
