[Z06] Z06 Road Noise

I searched the form and found some good articles my question is! If I sound proof just the rear part of the car would it make a significant difference? Or would I need to do the whole interior?
Has anyone laid sound proofing material in just the back of their Z? If so how were the results? Thanks!
Check out this thread...good how to stuff as well and documented well with pix:

Lemme know how you get along with this.

The rear end looks real easy to do without seeming to time consuming. I was basically wondering if it would make a difference without having to do the whole interior..
Anyone sound proof just the rear of thier Z's :flag
Used two rolls of the Extreme...no petroleum base Dynamat. http://audio-n-more.com/dynamat.htm
Also installed the partition.
In all, much less noise.

http://www.koolmat.com.
I am a dealer for DynaMat, and I used DynaMat on several cars in the past and it really doesn't make a big difference unless you use multiple layers, a combination of their products, or both; which is expensive, very time consuming, and the thickness doesn't work in some areas or makes the carpet look funny.
I saw KoolMat in a recent issue of Vette and they have precut kits for all C5's. One for the rear area, one for the bulkhead behind the seats, and one for the front. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE AND IS A LOT EASIER TO INSTALL!
Most people just do the rear section and maybe the bulkhead, but all three make the car as quite as a luxury car.
KoolMat is the same thickness as DynaMat Extreme, ~.070", but is twice as dense. Density is what reduces the noise. And it refects direct heat up to 1,100 degrees if you need it for that. Almost all of the NAsCAR teams use it on their cars.
I liked it so much I'm now a distributor, and I will be happy to give anyone from the forum interested a 10% discount off their advertised pricing like I have for the members of the local Lone Star Corvette Club.
This is really the trick deal for all years of Corvettes IMHO.
Shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you my phone number so we can talk.
