Well I went and put the Hurst Billet Plus shifter on today, following the outline from the forum the work went smooth. Can not believe how fast the gear changes are with that in. You folks were on the money about that unit humming a little with the stock **** on and that demon key sure lives up to its name, had to put it back in until my Hurst T handle arrrives. Question did any of you notice that the stock shifter bolts are not round, they are almost a triangle shape, I wonder if that is to keep them from vibrating out? Oh well if the new bolts back out I will have to address that problem then.
Congrats on the shifter! eXACTLY WHAT i'M PLANNING TO ADD TO MINE. wHERE DID YOU BUY IT AND DID YOU LOOK AROUND FOR THE BEST PRICE? Ophs, hit the cap key by mistake! Boy do I hate to type. Good luck with the shifter. :D  :flag
Red/Blue Loc-Tite keeps anything from shaking loose; I used it on my RaceBike, and that thing had sustained revs over 14,500 rpms.. I think it's time I broke the ice and went for that shifter Mod, can't stay completely stock forever! Where did you get it and the T handle? Thanks.

I bough my Hurst from this guy, no problems, brand new, and he shipped very quickly. As for the screw in the shifter it's called a tri-lobe depending on the grade of the screw it can be used to chase threads or thread soft material
One issue I had with mine concerning vibrations. Watch the forward and reverse throw stops. The nut on the forward stop vibrated right off the screw on mine and the screw wound itself down. I lost 1 st, 3 rd, 5 th, and reverse after a highway trip to the Gatornationals. Didn't have any tools with me to fix it on the road so I had to drive home with only the bottom half of the pattern. No reverse was an issue. If you want to locktite something then put some on these stops while you are installing it. JMO
Thanks for the heads up on the stop screws. I will pull to boot and drop some locktite on them, alreaady put it on the spring pressure adjustment screws, might as well do more.
