You sound surprised that old 01' can go. Don't be, after a few of the same basic mods, they are all the same Z06's.
You need to set your target now and don't stop until you run it. My 01' ran a 12.17 with a zip-tied air filter and no cat exhuast. Once I broke the 12.20's I actually relaxed and enjoyed the car more.
(car has over 40K on it and seems to run better all the time)
LOL..i am just sayin that out of sarcasam. I say this because a lot of people say "only an 01" when they are talking about a racae, track, etc...making it sound like it is sooo much slower then an 02, where in reality, a cold air intake will make up the difference.
Yes, my goal is a 12.2 for now. We will see what happens next time. i will keep you guys posted if anything good happens.
while i am at it, i have a question.
do the bfg 315-17-35 bfg dr hook as good as the new 295-35-18 bfg dr??
I have the opportunity to get a set, but the 315 set is $500 cheaper. is it a waste of $ to get the 18's when i can get the 17's for 500 less??

the smaller bfg's will get you under 12.20's. if that is your goal i'd use them and save $500. (i can't speak about the 18's, but i have noticed a few people upgrading to them when they wear the 17's out)
I think if your chooseing between 17" or 18" DR, the first question is do you have an extra set of 17" front wheels for the 17"DR? Yes 01's are quick, I ran 11.9 with mine, F1's,Stock air box cover on, not to take anything away from the 01 but 02-03's are an improvement on an allready grate car!! Ric
