Default 2002 and 2003 Z06 differences?

Other than the silver nose and trunk badge were there any mechanical differences?

Not that I know of. Maybe some minor spring rate thing, but no significant difference.

I'm interested in knowing the exact differences and if a website has this information.

I do not believe there are any mechanical differences. The only other difference besides the badges, are the "soft" impact things located on the inside of the B pillar, so when you have an accident, your head will hit there and not get hurt.

This was a federal gov't mandated thing. If my head were to hit one of these in an accident, it would not still be attached to my body, as they are located about a foot behind my head.

Hope this helps

Michael

There are actually a few differences, but nothing in the HP or SUSP depts. 50th Anniv keys, 50th video, etc, etc. Early '03s have 1 lift tube for the trunk. Later '03s have the new fuel system aka C6 fuel system. All '03s have the new 1pc lugnuts. Most are very subtile, however the fuel system upgrade is a good one.

There was a post done on this subject back in November '02.

The old ones I believe were two piece where the little plastic (fake) lugnuts screwed onto the actual lugnuts (the actual lugnuts had exterior threads on them that the plastic lugnut caps screwed onto).

:withstupid:

I think they went to the 1pc lugs and no locking lug kit back in late '02 production.

The new fuel system began sometime in November 2002.

Yep the fuel filter is now inside the tank, and the fuel pumps have been changed slightly. Also, the evaportive emissions set-up is slightly altered. This is causing for some late nights at all the aftermarket shops that install turbos and superchargers on C5s, as now getting the required flow for the increased hp is much more difficult. They can no longer spike the current to the pumps to increase flow, as it causes the pumps to burn out. They don't want to mess with the fuel system set up, as this would then require CARB certification etc etc etc. I'm sure they'll figure it out, and when they do, it'll mean that these types of options will easily be implemented on the C6 - which is GOOD NEWS for furture C6 owners!! :seeya

According to the 1953-2003 Black Book, to meet gov't. regulations the A pillar padding was revised on all C5s, and the headliner material and B pillar padding is now thicker on Coupes and Z06s.

If the fuel filter is inside the tank, how do you change it?
