Is it just me or is that paint scheme on the hood and top a bit "tacky"?????
I think I prefer the Z the way it is!!!
The idea behind the paint scheme is that it is comemorative of the C5R Corvettes that race in the American LeMans Series. Their new paint scheme is the same (or similar).
The New C5R Corvette
I saw the Z16 "commemarative" 2004 Z06 at the Peterson 50th Ann. Gathering. Yes it IS tacky, and it looks very cheap. The color is nice though. Rims also.
What looks ok on the C5R doesn't quite seem the same on the ZO6. Does GM do some sort of consumer survey before they release these? If so, I wonder how they choose people. Do they drive around until they actually find someone with a 1978 Chevrolet Monza Spyder in the driveway and only ask them? Sorry, but I have to agree with the previous negative comments.
One other thing I find stupid on this new Z16 option, is by the time this car comes out, the C5R might have one Lemans for the 3rd time making those badges obsolete and really meaningless. I wonder if they are going to make upgrade badges you can change if the C5R wins again next week.

Dave Hill announced at the Birthday Bash that he hoped there would have to be a revision of the emblem to reflect the 3rd Corvette win at LeMans. :yesnod:
