Hey guys - Quick question for you about ET Streets. I'd ask my buddies on the M3 forum, but no one there (that I know of) has ever tried them on their M3:-) For those of you that have used them, how much of a difference did they make in your 1/4 mile times when you switched over from your stock tires? I ran a 13.29 @ 103 mph on my stock tires, but I have a hard time coming out out of the hole quickly. My best 60' was only 2.08. Looking to get into 12's stock with the M. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
P.S.- Ran into a guy that says he lurks here once in a while. Had over 600 RWHP in his blue Z06, with a laptop hooked up to his ECU. Ran low 11's on street tires. Incredible car!
it didn't matter for me... if you inprove your 60 you should see an improvement in ET... if you aren't spinning alot now off launch you probably wont see much of a difference. try posting this in the drag racing section for alot more input :seeya or do a search of previous posts in that section. :auto:
Depends. Since it is an M#, it makes HP, but doesn't make a lot of torque. Alos, in an M series you have to rev the snot out of it to make power. So, with ET Streets, you are going to have to rev the snot out of it, and dump the clutch other wise it will just bog the car, as it will hook very, very hard. You may wish to run Et Streets with a bit too much air pressure, and have them spin just a bit. Although this sounds a bit counter intuitive, it will keep you car from bogging and keep the power in the power band if they spin just a bit. Also even if they spin, they will still be moving forward alot harder than a street tire or a drag radial. Depending on the car, you can drop several tenths, up to .5 seconds (5 car lengths).
:iagree: I think that you would put a lot more stress on your car to put ET streets on it. I would recommend a set of Drag Radials and then toy with the pressure on them. I just think that if you are revving the **** out of it and those ET streets hook hard you will either smoke the clutch or break a half shaft. I don't know how fragile the internals are on the M3? Just my $.02
