Radio reception

Do any/many of you have poor radio reception?

Yes, the tuner in the GM unit is really lousy. It's probably where 75% of the complaints about the stereo come from. If you haven't noticed the sound is MUCH better when listening to a CD than the radio, even if you are getting really good signal. Personally, I'm thinking about adding satellite radio to mine to fix this problem. :D

No problem here. I even have the short antenna installed.

I did notice problems with reception compared to my coupe.

However, I also have the short antenna mod and have noticed no degradtion in reception from the full size antenna

Yeah, I notice that too. I just got an iPod and you can get this FM radio transmitter so you can listen to your iPod in the car without connecting it with wires. I used it in the car and noticed that the quality was not as great as I had wished so I went inside my house and tried it on my Bose FM radio and it was great recpetion.I tried to hold the transmitter about as far away from the bose as it was in the car and still the Bose sounded better. But, that is the reason why this car is like 50,000 and not 80,000 or up. I can't complain. In 2 years I plan on getting XM and I rarely use FM anyway because I use my CDs.
